EPC Privacy Statement (September, 2004)
EPC is committed to protecting your privacy – whether you are an
athlete, a physician or a member of the public. This privacy
statement applies to all EPC services either on-line or
off-line.
The EPC website is an invited audience website only. Access to
the three areas, ‘athlete’, ‘physician’ and ‘client’, is only
available to those people holding the necessary passwords. For
the client, there are two passwords one general allowing access
to the book ordering area and one specific for individuals
wishing to order tests.
All information collected will be held in strictest confidence,
where information is shared with third party contractor, e.g.
the courier company, the EPC Terms of Business require the
contractor to maintain the confidentiality of your information
and are prohibited from using that information for any other
purposes.
EPC does not sell, rent or lease its customer list to third
parties under any conditions.
Personal information collected on this site may be stored and
processed in the United States or any other country in which EPC,
or contracted third parties, operate. By using this site, you
consent to any such transfer of information outside your
country. EPC operates within the safe harbour framework as
determined by the US Department of Commerce regarding the
collection, use and retention of data from the European Union.
Clients are offered monitoring services as an integral part of
their business relationship with EPC. The data upon which this
monitoring is based belongs to the client. With the expressed
permission of the client only, this data may be shared with the
client’s physician; this permission may be withdrawn at any time
via e-mail. Under terms of strict anonymity, a client’s data may
be combined with other data for the production of learned papers
or promotional material. At no time will the client’s identity
be divulged to a third party.
EPC offers an on-line magazine to assist and encourage existing
clients. As an integral part of the website, clients may choose
to access the magazine as they see fit. An e-mail prompt is
available but can be disabled by the client should they no
longer wish to receive information on specific articles.
EPC uses a variety of security technologies and procedures to
protect your personal information from unauthorised access, use
or disclosure. Information is stored on computer systems with
limited access, located in controlled facilities. Transmission
over the Internet is protected by encryption.
Client results are only accessible using a password. A client
may opt to share results with their physician, this is an
exclusively opt-in facility.
From time to time, EPC may vary this Privacy Statement to take
advantage of added security facilities made available. EPC
encourage clients to review the Statement regularly to remain
informed of any increases in security.
EPC welcomes any comments on security and privacy issues. If you
believe that EPC has not adhered to this Statement or is not
offering a comprehensive security service please contact EPC by
